Headmaster Andrew Davies introduced the proceedings by outlining what the school had been doing related to woodland over the previous year and how it plays a significant part in school life. He announced that Rebecca Ridley Thomas of Year 5 had been judged the 2013 winner and he read out the citation that will be fixed in the commemorative book. John Daines for the Trustees said that the award was so important to Jim Grogan and how pleased he would have been that it has been such a success for three years. John outlined progress over the year that included obtaining funds for, and starting work on, improvements to the main path including access to the school’s back gate. A fourth Green Flag award was eagerly anticipated and viewing hides would be erected to view a bird feeding station. Sheila Grogan then presented Rebecca with a certificate, a plaque and a book token.
