Jim Grogan Countryside and Wildlife Award - 2014

The 2014 Award, the fourth, has been presented to Leah Barnham.

On Tuesday, July 15th, 2014 the whole of Tarvin Primary School assembled for the annual presentation. The headmaster, Andrew Davies, introduced things by emphasising the part that the woodland plays in the life of the school.  He also thanked the trustees for all the work they do to develop and maintain the woodland.  This year, rather than just the teaching staff making the decision there had also been input from parents who had submitted nominations for their children that covered their relevant out of school activities.  There had been many strong nominations and the decision process had not been easy but one person had stood out.

He announced that Leah Barnham of year 4 was the winner for 2014 and read out the citation that had been fixed into the commemorative book that is on permanent display in the school’s entrance hall.

Stuart Exell, Chairman of the Trustees, presented Leah with her certificate, a commemorative plaque and a book token.
