On Saturday, October 1st 2016 we held our second Apple Pressing Day, which will be an annual event for the village. The weather was a bit grim with intermittent drizzle but it didn’t spoil what was a good day for those who came. We had our recently donated apple press, and were supported again by Clive Richardson from Whitegate who brought along his equipment. Together we were able to cut, crush and press the many apples brought along by villagers to produce fresh apple juice. Tarvin Wildlife Watch and Cheshire Wildlife Trust provided other entertainment and information for the children. Barbequed burgers and sausages were available together with hot and cold drinks.
Altogether, The event was judged a success and we will hold another next year on the first Saturday in October2017, the 7th. There was also a piece in Tarporley Talk click here.
