On Saturday, October 1st 2011 members of the community joined together to celebrate the progress that has been made with woodland management over the last couple of years. It was a suitable time to unveil a commemorative stone for Jim Grogan and this was done by his widow, Sheila, and family. In addition the Green Flag (Community) was presented by Councillor Eleanor Johnson who has been a long-time supporter. The celebration continued at Tarvin School where refreshments were served. Stuart Exell gave an update on the work that had been done in the woodland and prospects for the future. Andy Davies, the headmaster then talked about the Jim Grogan Countryside and Wildlife Award book that will record winners for the next 125 years. Andrew Brown, the local bookbinder who created it was there to answer questions.
