The Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) presented an award for work in preserving and maintaining the boundary hedges around and within the woodland. This award was presented at the Cheshire Ploughing Match on 24th September 2008.
The award
Jim Grogan, Chairman, receives the award on behalf of the Woodland Trust from Lord Grey of Codnor, President of CPRE Cheshire. With Jim, and pictured right, is John Plant who, with the late Keith Bonser, did the hedge-laying.
In 2009 we were again successful; CPRE presented an award for maintaining the hedges bounding and within the woodland to Jim Grogan. John Plant was awarded for what was described as an exceptional piece of hedgelaying in Tarvin churchyard. These awards were presented at the Cheshire Ploughing Match on 30th September 2009.
John Plant was awarded for further work in Tarvin churchyard at the Cheshire Ploughing Match on 29th September 2010.
