The Tarvin Community Woodland Trust is a charitable organisation committed to the conservation and restoration of native trees, plants, and wildlife in Tarvin, England. Established in January 2008, the Trust manages a 13-acre (5-hectare) community woodland alongside the A51 Tarvin south-western bypass, providing a natural habitat for local flora and fauna while enhancing the quality of life for residents.
The Trust has been recognised with the Green Flag Community Award for 15 consecutive years, reflecting its dedication to maintaining high-quality, well-managed green spaces. Additionally, the Jim Grogan Countryside and Wildlife Award is presented annually to students who demonstrate an exceptional understanding of the local environment.
Playing a key role in carbon sequestration, the woodland stores approximately 2,400 tonnes of carbon, contributing to climate change mitigation. The site is easily accessible, with several pedestrian entry points, proximity to Tarvin Primary School, and connections to public transport, including bus routes 82 and 84 and regional cycling route No. 71.
Through conservation efforts, educational initiatives, and community engagement, the Tarvin Community Woodland Trust fosters environmental stewardship and continues to enrich the local community.
