On Saturday, October 7th 20176 we held our third Apple Pressing Day, which will be an annual event for the village. The weather was a great improvement on 2016 and still cloudy but dry this time. It didn’t spoil what was a good day for those who came although it did rain at the end. We had our own apple presses and crusher that had been fitted to some new stands by local woodworking wizard, Derek Rawden. Together we were able to cut, crush and press the many apples brought along by villagers to produce fresh apple juice. Tarvin Wildlife Watch and Cheshire Wildlife Trust provided other entertainment and information for the children. Barbequed burgers and sausages were available together with hot and cold drinks.
Altogether, The event was judged a success and we will hold another next year on Saturday, 6th October 2018.
