On Saturday October 19th 2013, the village celebrated the rebuilt footpath through the woodland.  Representatives attended from the major grant donors: WREN, which distributes grants from the landfill tax and Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Rural Fund.  Over a hundred villagers collected in the school where the head master, Andrew Davies hosted the day.  A ceremonial ribbon was cut in the woodland by Evie Mulligan, Becky Cheadle and Rebecca Ridley Thomas, the first three winners of the Annual Jim Grogan Countryside and Wildlife Award that is presented by the school.  Back in the school hall, where the annual school exhibition “Into the forest” was there to see, were some speeches from the grant donors and the woodland trust.
